Cancellation and Refund Policy

For short term visit, working holiday and others (other than pre-college student visa)

  1. Cancellation of course more than 3 weeks before commencement date:
    Registration fee will be retained by the school.
  2. Cancellation of course less than 3 weeks before commencement date:
    Registration fee and Cancellation Fee equivalent to 50% of 1 terms tuition fee will be retained by the school.
  3. Cancellation of course less than 2 weeks before commencement date:
    Registration fee and Cancellation Fee equivalent to 1 terms tuition fee will be retained by the school.
  4. Cancellation of course after commencement date:
    Registration fee and Cancellation Fee equivalent to 1 terms tuition fee will be retained by the school under all circumstances. Upon notifying our office in writing, we will refund the tuition fees.

For Pre-College student visa holders

  1. Cancellation of course after visa application documents have been submitted to KAI:
    The visa application fee will be retained by the school.
  2. Cancellation of course after a "Certificate of Eligibiliby" has been issued by the Immigration Authority of Tokyo, but before school fees have been paid:
    The visa application fee will be retained by the school.
  3. Cancellation of course after a "Certificate of Eligibiliby" has been issued by the Immigration Authority of Tokyo, after school fees have been paid, and before commencement date:
    Registration fee and Cancellation Fee equivalent to 1 terms tuition fee will be retained by the school under all circumstances. Balance of tuition fees will be refunded upon receipt of the original "Certificate of Eligibility" and certificate of admission.
  4. Cancellation in case of the applicant's visa being refected by the Japanese Embassy or Consulate:
    Registration fee wil be retained by the school. Tuition fees will be refunded in full upon presentation of a letter from the Japanese Embassy or Consulate proving that the visa application has been rejected.
  5. Cancellation in case of the course after commencement date:
    Registration fee and Cancellation Fee equivalent to 1 terms tuition fee will be retained by the school under all circumstances. If you withdraw from a course having studied at KAI for longer than 6 months, upon notifying our office in writing, we will refund the tuition fees for any remaining terms that have yet to begin.
  6. In the case of postponement, tuition fees are transferable only for the original applicant.
